Black Sea Bass
Black sea bass are a blast to catch around Belmar. These bottom-dwellers typically run 1-3 pounds but can get up to 8. You'll find them near wrecks, reefs, and rocky areas in 60-180 feet of water. Late spring through fall is prime time, with bigger fish moving deeper as it warms up. Folks love targeting them for their tasty white meat and the fun, light-tackle action. They put up a good scrap for their size too. To get them biting, try squid strips or clam on a simple high-low rig. Bluefish
